Why is it that each video game system has its loyal fans who always bash other game companies?

That makes no sense. They’re all video game systems. As far as I see it, it would be better to have more than one of those systems so you can play more games without restricting yourself because of “the competition”. Read the rest of this entry »

Getting Support for your Nintendo Wii

06.11.09

A product is only worth the purchase price if you get results from it. One of the biggest complaints people have when they buy something is that the customer support just isn’t there. It can be frustrating to try to get help with a product or to get your money back. Those canned automated replies to your emails aren’t effective. It can take a very long time to get a real person on the phone as well.

You won’t find those types of scenarios taking place though when you need support for your Nintendo Wii. They take great pride in offering you the personalized assistance you need. It doesn’t matter if you are ordering accessories, getting replacement parts, or you need help getting the system set up.

All of the customer service representatives are very well trained. That means they no matter who you speak with you will get results you are satisfied with. They know you have invested your money in the Nintendo Wii above other home gaming consoles offered on the market. Therefore they want to make sure you continue to be 100% satisfied with it.

Nintendo announced it’s releasing its next juggernaut, Wii Sports Resort, in July…

Published on Jun 3, 2009

The original Wii Sports, the game that helped sell millions of Nintendo Wii consoles, is now the biggest selling videogame of all time. Granted, it’s attained that by being bundled with a games console, but there’s a fair bet that a fair few people would have stumped up for the game anyway.

We’ll find out just how popular it is soon, anyway, as Nintendo has formally dated its sequel, Wii Sports Resort, which it will Read the rest of this entry »

05.27.09

By David Richards | Wednesday | 27/05/2009
In an effort to retain the momentum that has seen Nintendo become the most profitable games Company in the world the Japanese Company is now set to cut deals with third party manufacturers to make combat and sporting games for the Wii platform.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal the President of Nintendo’s US operation, Reggie Fils-Aime said that the number of games made by third party manufacturers could be as high as 70% of the available portfolio for the highly popular Nintendo Wii.

He also said Nintendo doesn’t plan to cut the price of the Wii, whose current price hasn’t changed since its debut. “Price cuts are a short-term incentive,” he said. “In the long run, you need software to excite people.”

05.26.09

metroidprime-sb

One of the must own games in the glory days of the Nintendo system

was Metroid Prime. Any gamer around when the game was new probably played it at one point. Metroid is also one of the first games I recall seeing a commercial on TV for.

Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing the Metroid Prime trilogy to the Wii with all three games on a single disc. The games will have a unified menu that allows players to choose which game they want to play.

The original pair of games is also being revamped to get controls similar to Metroid Prime

: Corruption. All three games let the player aim with the Wii Remote. The games also offer unlockables with rewards like music and artwork.

Wii MotionPlus Hitting Stores on June 8

04.16.09

wii-motionplus-0409-wii-motion
Last July we wrote about an upcoming Nintendo Wii remote accessory called MotionPlus. We thought it’d never come for real because we’ve been waiting a long time… But, finally the long wait’s over. Nintendo announced the availability of the said accessory. The official release of the MotionPlus is on June 8. With an announced price tag of $20, it could be very well worth it, especially for gamers who want more life-like experience when toying with the Wii. Better control is given to the hands of the gamer if this accessory is attached.

Using the Wii MotionPlus is easy since it only needs to be clipped on the end of the remote. All the chips installed inside the remote and the MotionPlus work together for much better motion tracking for more enjoyable gaming experience.

Nintendo also announced the availability of a sequel to the Wii Sports, the Wii Sports Resort. This game includes Jet Ski riding, dueling with a sword, and throwing a Frisbee. Sports Resort will be out on a later date, July 26.

Nintendo DLC Weekly Update

Nintendo releases four new titles spanning DSi and Nintendo Wii.
By Bryn Williams | April 13, 2009

As promised a few weeks ago, Nintendo has scrapped its Wii-kly Download newsletter in favor of a new “Nintendo Download” letter which now incorporates both the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo Wii. There are two pieces of DSiWare this week: Mixed Messages from Activision and Master of Illusion Express: Shuffle Games from Nintendo.

Wii owners get one new piece of WiiWare in the form of Tomy’s Party Fun Pirate and an old platformer hits the Virtual Console: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure from the Sega Genesis.

The new Nintendo DSi system has been on store shelves for just a week now. Today Activision’s Mixed Messages becomes the first third-party downloadable game for the new system. Mixed Messages is a game of electronic telephone that can accommodate a whopping 21 players. On the WiiWare side, fans will find a game based on the popular Pop-Up Pirate toy that might have players sticking virtual swords into their Mii characters. And classic character Pitfall Harry Jr. makes his debut on the Virtual Console.

Nintendo adds new titles to the Nintendo DSi Shop and the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Mondays. Users with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points or Nintendo DSi Points to download the games.

Nintendo will continue to release new digital content for both its platforms on a weekly basis.

Problems Consumers have Experienced with the Nintendo Wii

04.08.09

images-wii
While most people out there are very happy with their Nintendo Wii some consumers have found it isn’t what they expected. The good news is that these seem to be isolated incidents instead of a problem with the development and technology that was used to create the program.

It seems that the most common problem that people experienced with the Nintendo Wii had to do with the power source. It simply wasn’t fitting properly and therefore not enough power was supplied. Imagine being in the middle of a very competitive game and then you lose the power to it. Not something you want to experience on a regular basis. Nintendo has changed the design for the adapters though with the newer consoles. Anyone with an older one that offers such trouble can ask for a new one to be sent to them free of charge.

For some individuals, their Nintendo Wii has been working just fine for a very long time. Then suddenly they start to experience Read the rest of this entry »

The Next Level: Wii to serve up ‘Grand Slam Tennis’

04.04.09

BY MATTHEW PRICE
Published: April 3, 2009

John McEnroe, the feisty tennis champion who won seven Grand Slam titles, will be featured in EA Sports’ “Grand Slam Tennis” for the Nintendo Wii.

The game is slated to ship in June.

No word on whether the Wii-mote can be chucked to the ground in an effort to emulate McEnroe’s famous “You cannot be serious!” tirades.

“It’s great that EA Sports has embraced tennis into its family of games,” McEnroe said in a release.

“I think it’s a solid sign the sport is thriving, and I hope it will continue to generate more interest and excitement in tennis.”

Wimbledon, tennis’ most prestigious championship, will appear exclusively in “Grand Slam Tennis.”

“Having Wimbledon exclusive to this game is huge because Wimbledon is such a special tournament, for the entire sport of tennis and Read the rest of this entry »
